This place breaks the myth that healthy and organic food are tasteless. The dishes at Sugarleaf makes one forget that he is actually eating healthy, simply because the food tastes good. I am so happy to discover a place where they serve gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free meals, snacks, desserts and shakes.
Quietly sitting on the 2nd floor of MEDIcard Lifestyle Center at the corner of Sen. Gil Puyat and Paseo de Roxas Avenue, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the quaint restaurant, which also has a grocery store on the ground floor selling hard-to-find organic products.
At the helm of Sugarleaf is Mr. Angelo Songco, a colleague in the PR industry and also a radio co-host at Stars n' Style DZRJ 810AM. He is very passionate with his business as it not only gives a no-frills healthy alternative, but he is happy to help people who are on a very strict diet, especially those advised by doctors. Sugarleaf first opened its doors at Wilson St., Greenhills in 2011, making it the first and original concept of its kind. Both the San Juan and Makati branches boasts of a cozy interior, good for 30 people, that is perfect for gatherings and meetings. Sugarleaf also organizes workshops, health and wellness talks. A total one-stop-shop when it comes to healthy eating and wellness.
