Gimmo at Le Blanc, the Newest Addition to Your Dining List of Reasonably Priced Good Food | Beautiful Life

Seafood Feast

We have a growing list of restaurants in Antipolo. But, why in Antipolo? For one, Rizal province is the closest place to go by car. In general, without traffic, it is only an hour-and-a-half away from the Makati business district, via the C-6 Road.

Now that it is under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), we can traverse to Rizal without a travel pass, and it is at the moment, most accessible, too. Taking our test-drive car of the week, the 2020 Kia Sportage GT Line, off we went to Anitpolo. Watch for our story, coming up next in Motourismo.

Our test-drive car of the week, the 2020 Kia Sportage at Luljetta's Hanging Gardens Spa, where we were billeted, and  hosted by Ramon Marinas.

Like most travelers, we are in search of good food, and a cozy place to dine in. Our host, Ramon Marinas, the owner of Luljetta's Hanging Garden Spa highly recommended Gimmo at Le Blanc. After our relaxing and beautiful stay at Luljetta's (more about this on a separate article), our Motourismo crew headed to Gimmo at Le Blanc, which is located inside Le Blanc Hotel and Resort, no. 3 Taktak Road, along Sumulong Memorial Highway in Antipolo, Rizal.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed personally by the owners Gimmo and Gerry Alquiros with his wife Sasay. We immediately felt at home, not only because of their warmth, but also because of the cozy ambiance of the restaurant's interior all dressed in white.

We were seated by the corner glass windows that was facing the main road. It is good to note that Gimmo at Le Blanc is actually inside the 3-star Le Blanc Hotel, so there is also ample parking for cars and motorcycles.

Here are the dishes we ordered for five hungry people:

Seafood Feast in Cajun sauce.

Now this dish is the first thing we ordered. The Seafood Feast comes in three flavors, and we chose Cajun sauce because most of us liked a bit of spice. It was as good as the picture looks... I'd say even better. The taste actually reminded me of The Boil in New York City, and The Boiling Crab in California. The Seafood Feast is composed of crabs, shrimps, scallops with cheese, and corn. Best to eat with your hands. The friendly servers handed over a box of gloves, making it more convenient for us.

Binagoongan Bagnet

A staple comfort food is the Bingaoongan Bagnet. The crispy pork in adobong kangkong mixed with bagoong was heaven. This dish made me eat rice, which I am trying to cut. Of course, it is hard to resist if the special rice of Gimmo's is in front of you. The Green Garlic Rice has a dash of parsley, making it more flavorful. It went well with all the meats and seafood.

Rosemary Chicken

Now this needs to be ordered at least 30 minutes in advance. Lovingly made from scratch, the Rosemary Chicken was worth the wait. The chicken oil mixed with the delightful rosemary reminded me of a happy countryside, which is actually where we were, at the heart of Antipolo.

Seafood Pesto Pasta

One can never go wrong with a pasta dish.  This Seafood Pesto Pasta of Gimmo's is a must-try. There are other tempting pasta dishes in the menu, but we were already getting full. This is another reason to come back for more.

Bulalo Sisig

We all scrambled for that bone marrow laying on top of the pork sisig. The Bulalo Sisig is to die for.  This dish is easily a best-seller at Gimmo's, and now, we know why. Best to enjoy with an ice cold beer after a road trip.

Blueberry Cheesecake and brewed coffee.

Our just desserts. There was a list in the menu to satisfy that sweet craving. Since my group were already full to the brim, we decided to share a Blueberry Cheesecake. This delicious dessert was best paired with freshly brewed coffee.
