Paul Resurreccion Expresses His Heart and Soul Through Photography

Paul Resurreccion doing his presentation at the Soulful Journey: A Night of Wine and Art on January 16, 2019 at Element Boutique Hotel in Makati City.

"Many of your photos touches me on a personal note, as it was quite a trip back to memory lane," I gushed, as I stared at one of Paul Resurreccion's photographs.

It was the opening night of Soulful Journey: A Night of Wine and Art. The exhibit was like revisiting our favorite places in black and white, captured magnificently by internationally award-winning Filipino photographer, Paul Resurreccion, or Paul Res as he is popularly known as.

His exhibit opened recently, and runs until March 16, 2019 at Element Boutique Hotel, located along Guererro Street in bustling Poblacion, Makati, in collaboration with one of the country's leading wine distributors,  Le Cellier French Wine Selection.

Maximizing the use of the hotel's stairwell-turned-gallery, the black and white photos is an added attraction to guests.

The display is reminiscent of the NYC Museum stairwell I visited last year, wherein old photographs of New York City was exhibited. I am glad that Paul's exhibit was in this style, as it matches perfectly with the Bohemian vibes of Element Boutique Hotel. Maximizing the use of the hotel's stairwell-turned-gallery, the black and white photos is an added attraction to guests... all six floors of it.

Moonlight Manhattan is one of Paul Res' breathtaking photographs on the ground floor restaurant of Element Boutique Hotel.  Here with my partner, Monch Henares and award-winning photographer, Paul Resurreccion.

Marveling at the different subjects of his photos, one would see his favorites, mostly composed of his travels to different countries... water falls, tree lines, rural winter, moonlight Manhattan, and even underwater photography, as Paul is also a certified scuba diver.  Watch the FB Live presentation of Paul Res here.

Paul Resureccion is the 2015 Photographer of the Year for the Philippines awarded by the International Photography Awards (IPA). He was also named by IPA as Nature Photographer of the year, Special Photographer of the Year and Architecture Photographer of the Year.

In 2011, Paul Res had his first solo exhibition titled “Landscapes” in Manila. His works has been presented and exhibited internationally in Vietnam, South Africa, Iran and in New York.

What's next for Paul Res? "I am flying to Nairobi, Kenya soon for another exhibition," he revealed. "And I was just talking to the Ambassador of Czechoslovakia, who is interested to do the same," Resurreccion added.

Before he flies off to other countries, do catch his Soulful Journeys exhibit at Element Boutique Hotel, on-going until March 16, 2019.

Attended by diplomats, art enthusiasts and friends, here are some photos of the opening night held on January 16, 2019 at the ground floor restaurant of Element Boutique Hotel, hosted by Jorinda and Bernard Flour, owners of Le Cellier French Wine Selection:
