Philippine Football Teams Vying for a Slot in Dubai Tilt | Beautiful Life

Football Manila spearheads the much anticipated national elimination rounds in choosing a Philippine team to represent the country at the Football Five's World Championship (F5WC) to be held in Dubai, UAE from April 9 - 11, 2015.



At the recent Philippine Sportwriters' Forum (PSA), Football Manila's Marketing Manager, Brent Steenbergen, and Associate Marketing Manager Bea Quintos, stressed on the Filipino talent that abounds in the world of football in the country.

 

According to Steenbergen, "F5WC is the ultimate fan's dream.  The world finals will be held at a 4,000-seater stadium, and aside from the all-expenses-paid trip, players will be treated to the amenities of a world-class sporting event."  He added, "  It will truly be a unique avenue not only to showcase the best amateur talent the world over but also the best of Filipino talent can compete on the global stage."


Presented by Ford, the F5WC is the world's first-ever international indoor 5-a side tournament.  It is created and managed by Sports Events International.  The tournament is open to all male amateur players, aged 16 and over.  This is a chance of a lifetime, giving young Filipinos to shine and showcase their skill at the world stage.


There is an expected 48 countries participating in this prestigious event.  F5WC Philippines is the local qualifying tournament, while Football Manila is the local and licensed organizer.


Since January of this year, qualifying rounds nationwide have been happening at the pitch. It will culminate in the country finals to be held in Metro Manila on March 28.
